Ignisshop controller
This guide explains how to find the device, connect it to your Wi-Fi, and control it from a phone, computer, or laptop with Ignis Studio. The important part is that AuraX devices, the phone, and the computer are on the same network. That network can be created by a router, a phone hotspot, or a laptop hotspot.
Connect AuraX2, your phone, and the computer with Ignis Studio to the same router Wi-Fi. A router is the most stable solution for multiple devices at once. Then you can control the device from a phone or PC via http://aurax.local, via the IP address, or through AuraX finder.
After power-on, AuraX2 first tries to connect to the saved Wi-Fi for about 30 seconds. If it cannot connect, it starts broadcasting its own network AuraX-XXXX. This lets you connect to the device, change Wi-Fi settings, or control it directly for setup.
A shared network can also be created by a phone hotspot or laptop hotspot. AuraX2 and the control device must both connect to that same network.
When the device has internet access, it can quietly check whether a newer firmware is available. If a newer version exists, it shows a notice in Settings. The update never starts by itself without confirmation.
AuraX2 remembers the last selected effect, program, colors, brightness, and other common settings. After power-off and power-on, it tries to restore the last used state.
For normal use, simply power the device on. For the most accurate time synchronization, start the program with the START command in the AuraX2 UI or from Ignis Studio.
A standard Wi-Fi router is best. If a router is not available, a phone hotspot or laptop hotspot can create the network.
Connect the AuraX2 device, phone, and computer with Ignis Studio to the same Wi-Fi. Once they are on the same network, they can communicate.
Open a browser on your phone or PC and enter http://aurax.local. This opens the AuraX2 web control without installing an app.
In Ignis Studio, use Scan. Studio finds AuraX2 devices on the same network and shows the IP address of each one.
Once you know aurax.local or the IP address, just open it in a browser on your phone or PC. The control UI opens directly from the device.
Open the device IP address directly, for example http://10.91.105.247. You can see the IP address in Ignis Studio after pressing Scan.
If you want to control several staffs or devices at once, use a router. A phone or laptop hotspot can work, but a router is more stable. Control also works without the app: in Ignis Studio, press Scan, find the IP address, and open it in a browser.
AuraX2 uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. For highest reliability, set the network to WPA2-Personal. WPA3 or mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode can cause slower connection or repeated connection attempts on some phones, routers, and hotspots. Do not use a hidden network and choose a simple SSID without special characters.
If AuraX2 has saved Wi-Fi credentials, it first tries to connect for about 30 seconds after power-on. If it cannot connect, it starts its own Wi-Fi AuraX-XXXX and keeps it on so you can still access the device if the router password changed, the hotspot was switched off, or the device is in a new location. If no Wi-Fi is saved yet, the own network starts immediately.
Wait about half a minute after power-on. In the Wi-Fi list, select for example AuraX-7772. The numbers are different on each unit so devices do not get mixed up.
The phone may say that the network has no internet. That is normal. Choose Keep connection or Yes.
If the page does not open by itself, enter http://aurax.local. If that does not help, enter http://192.168.4.1.
In the Settings tab, enter the Wi-Fi network name and password. After saving, the device reboots, tries to connect to the saved network again, and turns off its own Wi-Fi.
If the phone keeps disconnecting from AuraX-XXXX , temporarily turn off mobile data or confirm in the phone notification that you want to stay connected even without internet. Some phones aggressively switch back to a network with internet, even when the AuraX network is working.
AuraX finder mainly helps users avoid typing IP addresses. The app finds AuraX2 devices on the local network and opens their web control when tapped.
The phone and AuraX2 must be on the same local network. A home router is the most reliable option.
The app shows found devices with name, IP address, battery, Wi-Fi strength, and sync channels.
The control screen for that AuraX2 device opens.
Upload, delete, and start programs. Program files from Ignis Studio are supported. The device checks free space and verifies the upload.
Select color, brightness, and ready-made color palettes for effects that use color.
Instant effects without an uploaded program. Each effect only shows the parameters that make sense for it.
Device name, Wi-Fi, firmware status, new version notice, firmware update, and reboot. Do not change Advanced settings without consultation or exact knowledge of the device.
OFF turns LEDs off. ON restores the last running program or effect. The device remembers this state even after power-off.
The interface shows the IP address, Wi-Fi signal, battery, and other important status information.
Prepare the program in Ignis Studio. Use the AuraX2 export, which creates a file intended for upload to the device.
In the AuraX Export section, use Scan. Ignis Studio finds devices on the same network, shows their IP addresses, and lets you upload the selected timeline directly to the device.
You can also upload a program in the AuraX2 UI in the Programstab. Choose the file, upload it, and check that it appears in the program list.
Select the program number and press START. STOP stops the program. In Ignis Studio, you can also use the START PROGRAM ON ALL DEVICESbutton.
If a program should start at exactly the same time on multiple devices, do not start it only by the power switch. The best way is to start the program with the START command in the AuraX2 UI or from Ignis Studio. Devices share timing information at start and compensate the program position so the shared start is as accurate as possible.
Turn Sync on when you want one control action to change programs, colors, effects, or brightness on multiple devices at once. Devices must be on the same network and in the same sync channel. For the most accurate result, start the program with the START button in the UI or from Ignis Studio.
If you want to control only one specific staff or device, turn Sync off. Commands are then sent only to the device you currently have open.
| Setting | Purpose | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Device name | Device name in the app, device list, and network. | Use a practical name, for example stage-left or staff-01. |
| Wi-Fi SSID / Password | The network AuraX2 should connect to. | For multiple devices, use one stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Ideally WPA2-Personal, not WPA3. |
| Advanced settings | Service section for specific hardware setup. | Do not change without consultation or exact knowledge of the device. |
| Firmware update | Current firmware version, newer version check, and manual device software update. | The device can notify you when a new version is available. Start an update only with stable power and do not interrupt the upload. |
Charge the device via USB-C using a standard 5 V charger or a USB port intended for charging. Do not leave the device covered while charging and do not place it on flammable material.
With a low battery, Wi-Fi can be slower and the device may behave less reliably, especially at high brightness or with white color. Fully charge the device before a performance or installation.
High brightness, white color, and long LED strips significantly increase power draw. If the device behaves unstably, lower the brightness or use more stable power.
If the device becomes unusually hot, smells, is mechanically damaged, or behaves unusually, stop using it and contact support.
| Area | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Operating temperature | Recommended approximately 0 to 40 deg C. Do not expose the device to direct sunlight, high heat, or freezing temperatures. |
| Charging | Charge ideally at room temperature, approximately 10 to 35 deg C. Do not charge an overheated, frozen, or wet device. |
| Humidity | Use in a dry environment. Protect from rain, condensation, and moisture. Recommended relative humidity is approximately 20 to 80 % without condensation. |
| Storage | Store dry, away from direct sunlight and high temperatures. For long-term storage, do not leave the device completely discharged. |
| Transport | Turn the device off during transport, protect connectors, and do not expose it to impacts or pressure on the LED section. |
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Cannot open aurax.local | Check that you are on the same Wi-Fi. In Ignis Studio, press Scan and open the device IP address. On the AuraX own Wi-Fi, try 192.168.4.1. |
| Device does not connect to hotspot | Check that the hotspot runs on 2.4 GHz and uses WPA2-Personal. Some phones with WPA3 or power-saving mode can behave unstably. |
| Phone disconnects from AuraX-XXXX | Confirm that you want to stay on the network without internet. Alternatively, temporarily turn off mobile data or automatic Wi-Fi switching. |
| AuraX finder does not find anything | Put the phone, computer, and AuraX2 on the same Wi-Fi. Try Scan again in Ignis Studio. If the phone is the hotspot, some phones limit client discovery; in that case use the IP address or a router. |
| The Wi-Fi network disappeared after setup AuraX-XXXX | That is correct. The device successfully connected to the router and turned off its own service Wi-Fi. |
| Program cannot be uploaded | Check free space and the file exported from Ignis Studio. If you upload through the app and the phone blocks the file, try a standard browser. |
| Device does not respond | Disconnect and reconnect power. Wait about 30 to 60 seconds. If it cannot connect to the saved Wi-Fi, it should start broadcasting AuraX-XXXX. |
| The last effect or program runs after power-on | That is correct. AuraX2 remembers the last state. If you want an accurate shared start across multiple devices, start the program with the START command in the UI or from Ignis Studio. |
If possible, connect all AuraX2 devices, the phone, and the computer to one router Wi-Fi network. If a router is not available, a phone or laptop can create the network as a hotspot. Then aurax.local, the IP address from Ignis Studio, the device list, and synchronization work according to the quality of that network. For stability, use 2.4 GHz and WPA2-Personal.
