What is WLED and why do we use it?

WLED is an open-source lighting platform that enables smart control of addressable LED strips via Wi-Fi. It was developed by Simon Peter (Aircoookie) and is freely available under the European open-source license EUPL v1.2.

The platform runs on ESP8266 and ESP32 chips and allows easy control of LED strips through a web interface, mobile apps, or even smart home integration (e.g., Home Assistant). It includes dozens of effects, animations, color transitions, and advanced features such as device synchronization, music integration, and more.

At Ignisshop, we use a custom-modified version of WLED tailored to our needs. Thanks to this, we can offer intuitive control, higher performance, and stable operation even with complex animations or high playback speeds.
