AuraX Staff

AuraX Staff is a fully programmable smart LED staff designed for classic staff flow, stage performance, juggling and professional visual shows. It is based on the proven AuraX Contact Staff construction, but uses a simpler layout without the second LED section and features the modern AuraX2 control system.

Each end contains one illuminated section with 60 high-brightness LEDs, providing a total of 120 LEDs (2 × 60). Both ends create bold, clean light trails, while the centre of the staff remains comfortable to hold and easy to guide through fluid movements. AuraX Staff supports detailed animations, smooth colour transitions and custom programs created in IgnisStudio.

📱 Wi-Fi and AuraX app control

Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, you can control AuraX Staff from a phone, tablet or computer. The device connects to your hotspot or Wi-Fi network, and you can open the web controls through aurax.local. The AuraX app and web interface show connected devices, their IP addresses, battery status and signal strength, and let you switch between them easily.

The control interface provides quick access to switching the lights on and off, starting and stopping programs, and adjusting effects, brightness, colours, speed and synchronisation. Uploaded programs can be deleted or reordered directly on the device, allowing you to prepare several routines and select the right one before a performance or during a show.

AuraX2 supports synchronisation of multiple devices. You can start programs together, switch lights on or off, and match effects, colours and speed within the same synchronisation class. This is ideal for duo performances, group shows or combining several AuraX props in one choreography.

✨ Effects, colours and LED FX

AuraX2 includes live effects that can be used without preparing a program on a computer. You get 46 lighting effects, 29 ready-made colour palettes and the option to create your own colour combinations. Colours can be selected conveniently with a classic colour wheel.

LED FX adds live audio-reactive computer control to AuraX2. Using the external LED FX software, AuraX Staff can react to music in real time, changing the light according to the sound, rhythm and intensity. This feature is available only when controlled from a PC.

🎛️ IgnisStudio – create a custom show precisely timed to music

You can program AuraX Staff in IGNIS STUDIO, our software for creating custom pixel shows. Import images, graphics, logos and other visual elements, set the pixel count for your device, create a project and start building your own lighting choreography.

Images and effects can be placed on the timeline and synchronised with an audio track. The preview helps you see how the finished show will look in motion. Completed programs can be saved, edited again, shared as projects or uploaded directly to an AuraX2 device.

This makes AuraX Staff suitable not only for live effect control, but also for carefully prepared performances in which every moment of the lighting show is designed in advance.

🔄 Firmware updates

AuraX2 can notify you when a firmware update is available. This makes it easy to see when a new system version with fixes, improvements or new features is ready. Current firmware and update information can be found on the AuraX upgrade page.

🔧 AuraX Staff construction

AuraX Staff is built with balance, durability and real-world use in mind. The body is available in duralumin or carbon fibre. The duralumin version is slightly heavier and offers a classic, solid feel, while the carbon version is lighter, more impact-resistant and includes additional weights and rubber end caps for improved balance and USB port protection.

The illuminated ends are protected by clear polycarbonate tubes, which transmit light effectively while protecting the electronics inside. The end caps are made from impact-absorbing recycled rubber to help protect both the staff and the floor when dropped.

You can choose the grip that best suits your style. We personally prefer the soft EPDM grip, which is comfortable and provides reliable traction, but the choice is yours. Every AuraX Staff is supplied with rubber tassels / rotational dampers. If you do not want them, simply mention it in your order note. They can also be removed easily at any time.

Charging uses a modern USB-C connector. The battery is protected against overcharging, deep discharge and short circuits. Charging takes approximately 1.5 hours, while operating time depends on brightness, selected colours and the type of effect or program.
